First. Now. Forever.

Ages 16 and up

You know you want the occasion to be good. You just don't want to plan it.

Two services, one place. Both start the same way: you tell us the occasion, the budget and the things you would rather avoid, and we hand back complete plans — timings, what kind of place to book, what it should cost, and what to add on.

The Date Generator

For anyone planning a date, ages 16 up. First dates, Valentine's, anniversaries, proposals, parent-and-child afternoons, groups of friends, milestone birthdays — or just a Tuesday. It is live now, and it is free.

The Event Planner live now

For the bigger occasions: children's birthdays, 40ths and 60ths, retirements, weddings, engagements, anniversaries. Guests, venue, theme, colours, food, drinks, flowers, music, rentals and staff — three complete packages with an itemised budget roll-up. Free while it is new.

Build my event packages

How the Date Generator answers you. Three to five plans, each a different shape of date, not the same list re-worded. Every plan shows a timed running order, the type of place to eat and what it should cost, one or two add-ons with typical costs, and a line naming your own do's and don'ts back to you. Every money figure is a typical estimate for planning — never a quote, a price or a booking. Nothing is saved, and there are no accounts or payments.

Free example — nothing to fill in

Try it on for size: a full example date

This is exactly what the generator hands back — written out in full, so you can judge the quality before typing anything. It is a mid-budget anniversary evening. Below it, the same engine answering for two 17-year-olds on a first date, so you can see how the under-18 rules work.

Dinner-led · example plan · Evening · 17:30–22:00

The Long Table

Something small first, a proper table, then the long way home.

  1. 17:30

Slow coffee and a wander through a few side streets

Two coffees taken outside, then wherever the nicer-looking street leads. Around 40 minutes, no booking, typically $3–6 a head.

  2. 18:30

    Eat — a neighbourhood Italian, mid-price

Pasta, a shared starter, and a table you can actually hear each other at. Typically $12–22 a head. Book 5–7 days ahead for a Saturday, and ask for a corner table when you do.

  3. 20:15

Dessert bar — sundaes, waffles, gelato

The part of the evening nobody plans and everybody enjoys. Typically $5–10 a head, no booking.

  4. 21:00

    The long way home

A loop with a bench at the far end of it. Free, and usually the bit you remember.

Food stops, by type

  • · a neighbourhood Italian, mid-price — typically $12–22 a head. Book 5–7 days ahead for a weekend table.
  • · a dessert bar — sundaes, waffles, gelato — typically $5–10 a head, no booking.

Add-ons you could bolt on

  • A bouquet from a local florist — $25–45, typical range. Order the day before and ask for something in season — it costs less and looks better than the standard wrapped bunch.
  • A handwritten note, written before you go out — Free. Write it the day before and hand it over at the start of the evening, not the end.

About $65–120 in total for the two of you, all in — a typical estimate, not a quote

Cost guide: $20–38 a head for the plan itself. Estimates only — nothing here is a quote, a price or a booking.

How this respects your do's and don'ts

  • You said “no seafood” and “nowhere too loud”. Both stops here are land-based and quiet — the filters ran before anything was chosen.
  • You said you are “celebrating 5 years”, so the shape is dinner-led with a proper gap between courses rather than three rushed stops.
  • You gave the area as “around the city centre”, so nothing is pinned to a specific place: swap in your nearest version of each type and the running order and times still hold.
  • Your window — Saturday, evening, half a day — runs 17:30 to about 22:00 including 15–20 minutes of travel between stops.
  • The mid band is $80–160 for two, and this lands at roughly $65–120 — deliberately at the lower end so the flowers fit inside it.

Why this is different from the others: Built around a table, with the food stop as the main event. No place is named on purpose. Ring your nearest equivalent of each type about a week ahead — and if the Italian is full, any mid-price neighbourhood restaurant keeps this plan intact.

Under-18s, in plain words. If anyone on the date is 16 or 17, no plan will suggest alcohol — not as a footnote, but in the plan itself, with alcohol-free and age-appropriate alternatives in its place (cinema, dessert bars, park picnics, dances, games, food halls). If you asked for a drink, we will tell you plainly that we left it out and why. The date generator is open to anyone aged 16 and over. Some venues change to 18+ in the evening, so check the door policy when you book and take ID.

Playful · example plan for 16–17 · Afternoon · 13:30–16:40

Two Hours, No Awkward Silences

Score kept, prize agreed, and nobody has to think of what to say next.

  1. 13:30

    Crazy golf

Eighteen holes, a running scorecard, and a prize you agree on before you start. Typically $4–7 a head, book the same day at weekends.

  2. 15:00

Eat — a decent burger place, not a chain

Fries to share. Typically $5–9 a head and it is over in forty minutes flat.

  3. 16:00

    An ice-cream kiosk or gelateria

Two scoops, eaten on the walk to the bus. Typically $2–4 a head.

Food stops, by type

  • · a decent burger place, low price band — typically $5–9 a head, no booking.
  • · an ice-cream kiosk — typically $2–4 a head, no booking.

Add-ons you could bolt on

  • A shared playlist made for the afternoon — Free. Ten songs each, no skipping allowed. It does more for the atmosphere than anything you can buy.
  • A box of good chocolates from a small maker — $5–10, typical range. Buy from a local maker, not the checkout aisle — the difference is the whole gift.

About $27–50 in total for the two of you — a typical estimate, not a quote

Cost guide: $11–20 a head for the plan itself. Estimates only — nothing here is a quote, a price or a booking.

How this respects your do's and don'ts

  • You asked for “nothing that costs much”. Everything here is free or under $10 a head, and the biggest single cost is the crazy golf.
  • You said “no pubs or bars” — there is no alcohol anywhere in this plan, on purpose, and no venue type on it is licensed.
  • You said “don't make it awkward”, so the first stop gives your hands something to do and the scorecard gives you something to talk about.
  • Your window — Saturday, afternoon, a couple of hours — runs 13:30 to about 16:40 with a bus in between stops.
  • The low band is $30–60 for two, and this lands at roughly $27–50, so there is room for the bus fares.

16–17 note: Under-18s only: there is no alcohol anywhere in this plan, on purpose. Every stop is 16–17 friendly — cinema, dessert bars, park picnics, dances and games instead of bars. Some venues change to 18+ after 20:00, so check the door policy when you book, and take ID.

Why this is different from the others: Built around a game, so nerves have somewhere to go. No place is named on purpose. Your nearest crazy-golf course, burger place and ice-cream kiosk keep this plan exactly as it is.

Personal additions

Your own words are used directly — they are quoted back to you in each plan's “how this respects your do's and don'ts” line. If two of them contradict each other, we will say so rather than pretend.

The Event Planner — live now

Build your event packages

The same idea, a size bigger. A child's birthday, a milestone, a retirement, a wedding, an engagement, an anniversary, a christening — you answer a longer questionnaire and get three complete event packages: a timed running order, the type of venue to book and what it should cost, food priced per head, drinks handled explicitly, theme and colours, flowers, music, rentals, staffing, and an itemised budget roll-up measured against the total you said you could spend. Free while it is new, no account, no email, nothing stored.

A real number, not a band: every per-head cost below is multiplied by it.

Total budget for the whole event

Each package is measured against this total, line by line. If a package comes out over it, it says so and names what to drop first.

Personal additions

Your own words are quoted back in each package's “how this respects your do's and don'ts” passage. Where something you ask for pulls against your budget or your guest list, we say so rather than pretending you can have all of it.

Invitations and thank-you cards

Digital invitations and thank-you cards are not built yet — they are the next thing, not something you can use today. There is no waiting list trick here and nothing to pay: the form below records what kind of event you are planning so we know how much demand there really is, and what the two halves of it — invitations now, thank-you cards later — should look like.

It saves what you type on our server and does not send you an email, subscribe you to anything or take a payment.

We store what you type here so the interest is real. No email is sent, no payment is taken, and there is nothing else to sign up to.
